Who is the richest YouTuber?

Have you ever seen Mr. beast’s video microwaving a microwave microwaving a microwave microwaving a microwave and wondered to yourself, how much does Mr. beast who arguably the number one fastest growing YouTuber in the world actually make for “staying 24 hours in the most haunted house in America, “donating close to 2 million dollars to strangers from around the USA”, “trying to stop a bullet using only magnet” or “sing PewDiePie a hundred thousand times in a row without stopping”?

Let’s take a look at how much these top YouTuber is making and how long it took them to start making that and how realistic for you to become the next big YouTuber from insider ‘s perspective.

Jimmy Donaldson, who is known as Mr. beast, started YouTube when he was 13. Not a lot of people know this, but he’s been doing YouTube for 8 years as he is now 21 years old. The crazy part about Mr. beast is he literally had hardly any success for 5 years making YouTube videos before he exploded. Many people see Mr. beast and think he went viral and he’s always been this way, but Mr. beast was making videos consistently for 5 years before he ever had any success from YouTube. Also, lots pf people don’t know that PewDiePie the number one most subscribed in the entire world with nearly a hundred million subscribers was once a hot dog employee. Let’s take a look at how much YouTubers like Mr. beast is actually making every month.

As you can see his YouTube channel, he gets 11 million views in just one day. That is because he makes videos exciting by doing things that other YouTubers are not willing to do. His most viewed video is called “Spending 24 hours straight under water” that has 38 million views. This one video alone probably made him close to $70,000 yeah just from that one video. Anybody could get GoPro and record yourself sitting under water. The reason this video work so well is because no one spends more time than Mr. beast on idea creation. He capitalizes on trends and and made brown egg video most liked video on YouTube when the egg went viral. Not only the egg video, but also he takes advantage and take trending topic to the next level such as Ninja, world hottest substance, slime and so on. In addition, nobody does thumbnails better than Mr. beast. When you see the second most popular video, there is a thumbnail with 100 million Orbeedz. He said in the interview it took him a month to clean all the Orbeedz.

As a lot of you know, YouTube pays creators based on CPM. On SocialBlade you can see the creator’s estimated monthly revenue, but there are huge gap like $57K – $900K. Let’s calculate how much he is probably making on YouTube. He has 230 million views per month, so divide by a thousand for CPM and multiply by what we assume his actual CPM is. And multiply by 2 which means that Mr. beast is probably making close to $500,000 per month just from his YouTube ad revenue. However, the price is much larger when you take his other income streams from YouTube into account as well.  Also, when you take a look at his video description, there is a website link of his merch, so let’s see the common conversion percentage in e-commerce. On the website called SEM rush, which is a tool that allows you to see traffic and keyword search and other things for particular YouTubers, we can see that in May he had 928 thousands visitors to his merch website. Multiply 928,000 by 0.1 = 9280 people. And let’s say his average price is $20, 9280 times 20 = 185,600. S he is making $185,600 per month from his merch. If we add $186,999 to $460,000 = he is probably clearing close to $645,600 just from his merch and YouTube. But his merch is probably is not 100 profit, but you can assume 50 % profit or so, so we’ll subtract out 95,000 for half of the merch, which still leads him at over $550,600 every single month. But wait, that’s not the only sources of his income. As you can see on his video description, some of the videos are sponsored. For channel that has over 21 million subscribers, sponsors probably pay him between $10,000 to $100,000 so if we add that to the amount that we calculate, and IF his merch is 100% profit, it would be aound $600-700,000 per month just from YouTube.
