In this article, I’m gonna show you how to get the coveted blue check mark and get verified even if you have a little to no followings.
So what does that little blue check mark mean that people want so badly on Instagram? According to Instagram, what being verified actually means is that Instagram is verified the authenticity of a public figure celebrity or global brand. Just to be clear, being verified actually created by Instagram to signify authenticity that the Instagram account is actually owned by who it appears to be owned by and for years the mystery behind the magical blue checkmark was the holy grail of Instagram trying to figure out how to actually get that blue checkmark if you weren’t some massive celebrity. But the problem was nobody knew where to ask to get verified and nobody knew how get verified.
Up until recently, those covered blue checkmarks were in fact only given to a massive celebrity account or, you could pay thousands of dollars on the black market to have someone verify you most of the time, which you would get your money stolen and not get the beautiful blue checkmark.
Good news is, for everyday people like you and me, Instagram now has changed this and allowed anyone anywhere to apply be verified. So how do we actually do this?
How to apply?
1. Log in and go to your profile
2. Click the little three line bars at the top right corner
3. go to settings at the bottom
4. scroll down to request a verification and click on that form
5. Fill out info and attach a picture of government issued piece of ID (driver license / passport)
6. WAIT…
If your account gets verified, you’ll be notified and you’ll get that beautiful blue checkmark right next to your username. However, submitting verification request doesn’t guarantee that you’ll actually be verified according to some friend of mine who work inside of Instagram. Generally what they’re looking for is accounts that do have a substantial number of followers. But that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some fun ways to actually go about trying to be verified.
I have friends who actually are verified with less than 4000 followers. Many of which are athletes or musicians. Just don’t give up if you have small followings because I know people with only few thousands followers who are in fact verified and I also know people who have over a hundred thousand and who are not.
The moral of the story is what do you have to lose? It only takes 5 seconds to submit for verification and not everyone is gonna get it, but you never know what’s gonna happen unless you actually be the 1 % of people who takes action.
