1.Do not have living place

One popular travel influencer @mylifesatravelmovie and @alyssaramostravels says that she’s 30 years old and doesn’t have apartment. And when she’s not traveling, she just stay in Airbnb and take a rest for couple of weeks and go to next country.

Other travel influencer @theblondeabroad, she spend half of the year in southern California and other half on the other side of the planet which is in south Africa.

2. Editing is everything

@girleatworld says that “It’s always better to edit but I always try to use natural light efficiently so that I don’t have to spend too much time on editing”.

She uses Adobe Lightroom and spend about 30 minutes to edit.

3. Their travel is not “vacation”

To get the brand deal is not easy as an  influencer. One of the popular travel influencer @tourdelust says that she spends lots of time to sell herself as an influencer to get the brand deal. Just one picture with sponsorship logo can’t tell that being an influencer and actually make money is very hard work.

She gets around $2500 – $15000 or more per post, but she says that she usually check her emails not go out at night when she travel.

Also the hardest part is to find the best picture spot. They’re basically spend most of the traveling time trying to find the best spot.

4. Waking up early for picture

@thewhimsysoul mention that “waking up at 4am just to take picture with early sunrise light is definitely worth it, but it’s one one the things I dislike”

5. Change outfit at every location

As a travel instagrammer, they go to bunch of picture spot in a day and they have to change the whole outfit at every location.

Some of them says that they purchase outfit for photoshoot and if they know that they don’t wear them anymore, they would return after wearing once for shooting.

6. Small accessories

All these cute sunglasses, cute little bag, food and gorgeous drink you se on the picture, they bring and decorate all of it..

7. Unexpected things are sure to happen

lack of sleep, jet lag, running around the airport with heavy suitcase, loosing stuff and feeling lonely at hotel.. there are many unexpected things are sure to happen when you travel and it’s kinda sad that people can’t tell our effort from one fancy edited instagram picture.. says @nicoleisaacs

@nicoleisaacs continues.. I’ve been vomited in the airplane, I’ve lost many stuff, I’ve got robbery, I’ve missed my flight and had to wait for next flight at strange place.

This is just few travel experience of mine.

8. Real vacation is at their own expense

Even if they get paid by traveling, they go “real vacation” once in a while to just enjoy themselves.

9. Friends and family

When they’re traveling almost all the time that they don’t even have place to call “home”, they tend to miss important event that they’re friends and family are going through.

They go through lots of struggles as a travel influencer, but it’s worth to try to be one of them! If you can be successful travel influencer, you would get pay $120000 – $500000 per post.
