Influencer marketing is still trending marketing method in 2018, and due to evolution of social media, individual, especially social media influencer has a tremendous power more than ever.

And Japanese media company called CyberAgent conducted a survey  about how other companies use influencer marketing in Japan.

Q. Have you tried influencer marketing before?

56% – Yes

30% – No

14% – Not sure

Which means more than half marketing/media companies have worked with an influencer to advertise their product/service etc before.

Q. Which SNS platform do you use in influencer marketing?

Instagram got highest vote – 64%, YouTube next – 45% and then FaceBook – 40%.

Q. Purpose of influencer marketing

69% answered to make their ad more popular. 66% answered branding and acknowledge. 52% said enhance understanding of their new service/product.

That being said influencer marketing is not only to make people actually purchase product/service but also just approaching more and more people and gain more acknowledgement.

Q. Follower range

42% – more than 10000 – less than 100000.

32% – don’t determine by follower count

22% – more than 100000

15% – less than 10000

42% answered more than 10000 less than 100000 but the answer of 32 % could be the smartest decision from now on since follower count can’t tell an actual engagement percentage anymore.

Q. Problem when choosing influencer

Most of them answered don’t know how to choose right influencers.

And the rest answered hard to tell result/hard to measure the ad effectiveness, KPI is not clear and so on.
